A Field Of Votive Lights – March 2016
Vines Held In Place Ready To Grow – March 2016
I see the vines grown by the Williamsburg Winery everyday throughout the year. They go from bare vines, to leafing out, to grapes, to shedding their leaves. I have never seen them like this.
We were driving past a section the other day and my wife said to stop and look at the reflections coming off the vines – a daylight version of votive candles burning in a church. We had never seen the sun bouncing off what appeared to be new leaves like this. It was strikingly beautiful.
As you will see, the sun is reflecting off of a bluish-green tape that holds each vine trunk and shoots, to a wire. They look hand tied… a crop somewhere north of 100 acres. Amazing!
