Governor’s Palace Canal — October 2019
Over the weekend, Pam and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. The weather was as beautiful then, as it was a few days ago. On our honeymoon we bought ice cream and went for walks in the Ozarks. This year, we went downtown, had some ice cream, and went for a walk in Colonial Williamsburg. We ended up at the Governor’s Palace, entering through a side gate to experience the well-manicured gardens. We followed a shell path, passing the Revolutionary War Cemetery, and ended up at a flight of stairs that lead to the canal. Down we went. There was no one around on this quiet, late Sunday afternoon. We had the place to ourselves. With the color of fall, and the light slowly fading to dusk, it was peaceful and quiet — a wonderful place for a wonderful celebration.
